Locally owned and operated by husband and wife Doug and Lisa Tilley, Direct Hit Pressure Washing is gratefully serving Winston-Salem, NC and surrounding areas.

How We Got Started

When Doug and Lisa Tilley decided to sell Lisa's parents' home, they knew it needed to be cleaned to give it that important curb appeal. Pressure washing is something they have always done on the side, but this time, they thought they would hire someone. Sure, they could pull out their small pressure washer, add fuel (and hope that it cranked this year), then climb up and down the ladder all day long. Instead, Lisa called a local pressure washing company.

The quote was astronomical, in her mind. They knew the average working person would not want to spend this kind of money on a house wash either. Doug was looking for a business venture, and Direct Hit Pressure Washing was started. They vowed to charge reasonable prices while giving exceptional service.

Doug Tilley

Doug grew up in Pilot Mountain and went to East Surry High School. He worked on power lines before starting his own pressure washing business. The life of a "lineman" included working many long hours, sometimes living out of a suitcase in order to restore power in different cities or states. Many family events were missed, including birthdays and holidays. Missing Christmas with family was extremely difficult. He always enjoyed working outside and after retirement, wanted to start his own business venture.

Lisa Tilley

Lisa grew up in Pfafftown and went to North Forsyth High School. She worked in the insurance industry before retiring in 2019 to join her husband, Doug, in their pressure washing business. Before retiring, she enjoyed the security of a 9-5 job, where she had the freedom to work from home with outstanding co-workers and leaders.

But with any corporate job, the risk of job elimination always lingers. When this happened to Lisa, she took this as a sign from God that she was meant to take the leap into self-employment. What better opportunity than to join Doug in his business.
